Job description
Overview
CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker who is motivated by public service and committed to maintaining high professional standards in a secure institutional environment. The role involves installation, upkeep, and repair of building structures, plumbing, electrical wiring, machinery, equipment, vehicles, and grounds to ensure a safe operational environment.
Key Duties
- Maintain and repair facility structures to support secure and safe operations.
- Inspect and troubleshoot issues in machinery and equipment, carrying out necessary repairs.
- Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring and electronic components related to machinery and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment per established maintenance schedules.
- Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department appropriately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credential is mandatory.
- Minimum two years' experience in general maintenance or construction required.
- Technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Preferred knowledge of building construction and building system operations.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
- Applicants must be at least 20 years old.
