Maintenance Worker

Overview

CoreCivic is seeking a Maintenance Worker who is motivated by public service and committed to maintaining high professional standards in a secure institutional environment. The role involves installation, upkeep, and repair of building structures, plumbing, electrical wiring, machinery, equipment, vehicles, and grounds to ensure a safe operational environment.

Key Duties

• Maintain and repair facility structures to support secure and safe operations.
• Inspect and troubleshoot issues in machinery and equipment, carrying out necessary repairs.
• Install and repair electrical systems, including wiring and electronic components related to machinery and equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment per established maintenance schedules.
• Supervise and monitor inmates or residents assigned to the Maintenance Department appropriately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent credential is mandatory.
• Minimum two years' experience in general maintenance or construction required.
• Technical or trade school coursework in maintenance or construction can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Preferred knowledge of building construction and building system operations.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
• Applicants must be at least 20 years old.

Compensation
