Role Overview

Joining Vitol’s global Cloud & Platform Engineering team in Singapore, you will be instrumental in operating, enhancing, and advancing shared platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud technologies across the organisation. This multifaceted role blends strategic planning, practical engineering, tooling development, and operational management. Your primary focus will be improving shared platform services while ensuring reliable daily operations of the supported systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide the roadmap and ongoing evolution of Vitol’s global shared platforms, CI/CD systems, and cloud platform solutions.
  • Develop and manage platform automation, CI/CD pipelines, templates, and deployment tools spanning hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Maintain platform stability and perform operational responsibilities, including incident handling, troubleshooting, upgrades, and lifecycle governance.
  • Collaborate with Software Development teams to optimize the developer experience and promote secure, efficient application delivery.
  • Work alongside Cyber Security teams to integrate security best practices across cloud platforms, automation workflows, CI/CD processes, including managing access, secrets, vulnerabilities, and system hardening.
  • Engage with a worldwide team to provide around-the-clock support, foster knowledge exchange, set standards, and ensure operational uniformity.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience building and maintaining CI/CD platforms catering to .NET and/or Python application environments.
  • At least 3 years’ background supporting and operating enterprise-scale bespoke or commercial platforms globally.
  • 3+ years’ cloud platform engineering experience involving reusable infrastructure, automation, and platform service delivery within AWS hybrid cloud environments.
  • Proficiency managing both Windows and Linux systems, including their associated tooling and ecosystems.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, source control, containerization, and artifact tools like Jenkins, Terraform, GitLab/GitHub, AWS ECS, and optionally Nexus.
  • Experience managing shared enterprise platforms such as Kafka, Redis, Atlassian Suite, Elastic, Datadog, ActiveBatch, or Prefect.
  • Competence in scripting languages including Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  • An enthusiasm for leveraging AI-driven engineering techniques to enhance platform operations, developer workflows, CI/CD automation, and support processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams.
  • Proven track record of independently managing issues and delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • A proactive and user-centered mindset with a positive, can-do attitude, addressing both technical and functional challenges.
  • Self-driven with strong prioritization and deadline management abilities.
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience in commodities and/or trading sectors.
  • Contributions to CI/CD strategy at the enterprise level.
  • Software development background in .NET or Python.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex or GitHub Copilot aimed at boosting engineering efficiency, code quality, and automation.
  • Development experience of internal AI developer tools, agents, or integrations using protocols like MCP.
  • SecOps expertise, including working with HashiCorp Vault or similar platforms.
  • Previous role experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure.
