Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and intellectually curious AI Engineer to join our AI team in a full-time, permanent role based onsite in Singapore. This position is hands-on, involving direct collaboration with end-users and internal stakeholders to design, build, and roll out automations powered by large language models (LLMs) that deliver tangible commercial impact.

Embedded within a small, high-performing team experts at innovating AI applications in the energy and commodity sectors, you will immediately contribute by constructing agentic workflows, developing AI Skills and Multi-Channel Processes (MCPs) using cutting-edge models, and interacting with business users to translate needs into practical solutions. This role demands ownership and autonomy over your deliverables from the onset.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with end-users in trading, operations, and support functions to identify automation opportunities and customize LLM-based solutions to fit workflows.
• Design, prototype, and iterate on agentic AI workflows addressing real-world business challenges.
• Create production-quality prompts, AI Skills, and MCPs.
• Engage regularly with stakeholders to collect feedback and enhance solutions.
• Convert business challenges into clear technical requirements, design solutions, and plans for development, integration, and deployment.
• Document work thoroughly and contribute knowledge to the team’s shared resources.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 0 to 5 years professional experience in software, data, or AI engineering.
• Proficiency in Python programming, ensuring clean, modular, and well-documented code following robust engineering practices.
• Good understanding of AI concepts and large language models including practical experience with prompting and agentic patterns such as tool use, function calls, or MCPs.
• Competence with Git and version control systems.
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization technology.
• Experience or knowledge of modern full-stack development methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to understand and work with non-technical end-users effectively.
• Clear and effective communication skills with a propensity for asking insightful questions and quick learning of new domains.
• Keen interest and proactive attitude towards continual learning of emerging AI advancements.
• Intellectual curiosity about commodities markets, global energy flows, and trading dynamics with a willingness to deepen domain expertise.

Preferred Attributes and Skills

• Self-driven, capable of managing workload and priorities independently.
• Experience in shipping software products or hands-on side projects.
• Builder mindset focused on creating solutions actively rather than solely theorizing.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are advantageous.
• Experience constructing MCP servers or clients, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, or multi-agent AI systems.
• Expertise in prompt engineering and developing reusable AI Skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Interest or background in quantitative finance and derivatives markets.
• Involvement in large language model evaluations or benchmarking is beneficial.
