Role Summary

This position involves creating and deploying production-ready software solutions using Node.js and TypeScript. The engineer will work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to build scalable, secure, and user-friendly web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain production-quality applications with Node.js and TypeScript that fulfill client needs.
• Design and build RESTful APIs to facilitate integration between frontend and backend systems.
• Create responsive user interfaces utilizing React and Next.js frameworks for enhanced user experiences.
• Manage both relational and NoSQL database systems to optimize data storage and access.
• Deploy and oversee applications on cloud platforms such as AWS EC2, Lambda, and RDS to ensure scalability and reliability.
• Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines alongside containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to automate deployment and enhance system robustness.
• Incorporate role-based access controls and audit logging mechanisms to maintain data security and compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
• Develop notification functionalities using services like AWS SES, SNS, and Twilio for email and SMS communication.
• Create features for scheduling, attendance monitoring including QR code check-in/out, and reporting capabilities supporting PDF and Excel exports.
• Implement search, filtering, personalization, and recommendation engines tailored to user preferences and behaviors.
• Integrate AI and machine learning services or APIs such as those offered by OpenAI to improve application functionality.
• Engage with clients both onsite and remotely to provide technical assistance and ensure successful project delivery.
• Utilize infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK) and monitoring techniques for system health and visibility.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• Experience using AI-aided coding tools like GitHub Copilot.
• Background in mobile-responsive web design and development of Progressive Web Applications (PWAs).
• Experience developing government-facing citizen services is advantageous.
• Familiarity with integration of government identity verification services such as Singpass, MyInfo, or Corppass.
