Job description
Role Overview
We seek a skilled Toolmaker to become a vital member of our active engineering team located in Worcester. This permanent, full-time position involves hands-on responsibilities in crafting, assembling, repairing, and adjusting specialist tooling for environments demanding high precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble various tooling types following engineering drawings and models.
- Operate standard toolroom machinery and equipment.
- Fit and fine-tune precision components accurately.
- Perform bench tasks including polishing, grinding, and drilling.
- Verify the quality and correctness of components and finished tools.
- Diagnose and resolve tooling issues during testing and production.
- Assist in the testing and setup of newly introduced tools.
- Modify and repair existing tooling to maintain operational standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams regarding necessary adjustments or improvements.
- Provide feedback on operational challenges and suggest enhancements.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in toolmaking or comparable engineering roles.
- Background in engineering disciplines, toolmaking, or precision manufacturing.
- Strong manual skills in fitting and assembling components.
- Competency in interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
- Experience managing tasks involving tight measurement tolerances.
- Hands-on involvement in making, repairing, or altering tooling equipment.
- Basic knowledge of machining and toolroom operational processes.
- Proficiency using various measuring devices.
- Practical, solution-oriented approach to technical challenges.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Capable of both independent work and contributing effectively within teams.
Experience with molds, dies, press tools, or other specialized tooling is advantageous but not mandatory.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range from £45,000 to £55,000 annually, contingent upon experience.
