About the Role
Elgas Limited is seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team in Whangamata, New Zealand. This position involves delivering LPG gas cylinders to residential and commercial clients throughout the region. The role requires a Class 2 driving license with manual transmission competence and a solid understanding of health and safety procedures due to handling dangerous goods.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate daily from Monday to Friday starting approximately at 06:30 AM and finishing by 5:00 PM, with some Saturday shifts as needed.
- Conduct safe and timely deliveries of LPG cylinders to homes and businesses.
- Engage directly with customers, responding to inquiries and providing helpful assistance.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, especially those involving dangerous goods.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possess a clean Class 2 driver’s license and a minimum of two years driving experience.
- Experienced in driving manual transmission vehicles and delivering goods.
- Physically capable of lifting heavy items during the delivery process.
- Hold or willing to obtain a Dangerous Goods license and undergo LPG filling training.
- Flexible, adaptable, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
- Good geographical knowledge of the local region.
- Competent in using handheld computer delivery devices.
- Proactive in maintaining health and safety standards.
- Successfully pass background screenings including Criminal, ACC, medical, drug, and alcohol tests.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and readiness to meet operational demands.
