About the Role

Join Linde New Zealand Ltd as a Driver Trainer based in Hamilton, Waikato, where you will play a critical role in developing skilled drivers and promoting a safety-first culture. You will be responsible for training, mentoring, and assessing drivers to ensure full compliance with New Zealand transport regulations and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate training and mentoring programs for drivers, covering pre-employment drives, onboarding of new drivers, annual assessments, and post-incident retraining.
  • Coach drivers on safe driving practices, including speed management, use of cameras, fatigue control, driving techniques, and enhancing EROAD star ratings.
  • Conduct detailed audits of logbooks, fatigue management protocols, customer sites, and vehicle conditions.
  • Manage training schedules, maintain detailed training records, and coordinate external training resources as necessary.
  • Provide guidance during serious incidents and recommend drivers for promotions based on performance assessments.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven background in driver training or leadership within the gases industry.
  • Possession of a Class 2 to 5 driver license with Dangerous Goods endorsement.
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand transport compliance, including fatigue management policies regulated by NZTA.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills aimed at enhancing driver competence and safety awareness.
  • Experience in conducting audits and ensuring compliance through verification processes.
  • Excellent communication talents to deliver impactful and clear training sessions.
  • Ability to analyze driving performance data to identify risks and prescribe corrective actions.
