About the Role
Elgas Limited is seeking a responsible Delivery Driver based in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand to safely distribute LPG gas cylinders to customers. The position requires experience driving manual transmission vehicles and holding a Class 2 licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver LPG cylinders directly to residential and commercial customers throughout the region while providing excellent face-to-face service.
- Work a schedule Monday to Friday starting at 6:30 AM and ending by 5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Use handheld computer devices for delivery tracking and verification.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while handling hazardous materials and during vehicle operation.
- Participate in training provided to ensure safe and efficient delivery and to assist customers effectively.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Class 2 driving licence with a minimum of two years experience delivering goods.
- Be physically capable of handling heavy lifting associated with delivery duties.
- Demonstrate attentiveness to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety standards due to handling dangerous goods.
- Have good knowledge of the geographical region and proficiency with delivery-related computer equipment.
- Successfully pass various background screenings including criminal, ACC, medical, and drug and alcohol tests.
Compensation and Benefits
- The role offers an hourly wage of $30.90, with payments made weekly.
- Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) are supplied.
- Comprehensive training and any necessary certifications will be provided.
