Language Analyst

About the Role

The Internal Security Department (ISD) has been safeguarding Singapore's internal security and stability for more than 75 years, tackling threats from foreign subversive groups, espionage, racial and religious extremism, and terrorism. Key Responsibilities

• Independently handle multiple local and foreign languages as well as diverse information sources such as the Internet and various media outlets.
• Translate, transcribe, evaluate, and interpret both written and spoken language materials.
• Detect gaps in information and verify data to generate valuable insights.
• Compose concise, clear, and precise reports that support critical operational missions.
• Engage with different datasets and effectively communicate analytical findings to relevant stakeholders.
• Be prepared to respond to urgent operational demands during weekends and public holidays if required.

Candidate Profile

• Strong analytical reasoning with the ability to synthesize and analyze data effectively.
• Proficient in English and preferably fluent in the candidate’s native language.
• Knowledge of regional dialects or additional languages is considered advantageous.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Basic skills in data analysis using tools like Microsoft Excel and Power BI are preferred.
• Previous experience in translation, investigation, or analytics is advantageous.
• Applicants must be Singaporean citizens.
