IBM Security Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned IBM Security Consultant with specialized knowledge in IBM Security Verify and Identity & Access Management (IAM) solutions. This role involves designing, deploying, configuring, integrating, and supporting IBM security technologies for enterprise clients.

Key Duties

• Design and implement IBM Security Verify solutions tailored to client needs.
• Deploy and maintain IBM Security Verify Access (ISVA) platforms.
• Engage in customer discovery sessions to collect security and IAM requirements.
• Create IAM architectural designs that meet business and security demands.
• Implement Single Sign-On (SSO) and federation mechanisms.
• Configure policies related to authentication and authorization processes.
• Deploy and integrate SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and LDAP protocols.
• Manage Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and adaptive authentication solutions.
• Integrate IBM Security Verify with applications, directories, and identity providers.
• Resolve issues involving authentication, authorization, federation, and integration.
• Conduct security evaluations, environment assessments, and solution health checks.
• Oversee upgrades, migrations, deployments, and solution optimization for IBM Security Verify.
• Create and maintain technical designs, architectural documentation, implementation guides, and operational workflows.
• Lead workshops, provide technical demos, conduct trainings, and facilitate knowledge transfer.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, infrastructure, network, cybersecurity, and DevOps.
• Provide technical leadership throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support phases.
• Identify and propose enhancements to IAM security, automation, and operational effectiveness.

Technical Expertise Required

• IBM Security Verify and IBM Security Verify Access (ISVA) deployment and management.
• Knowledge of IBM Security Verify SaaS / Cloud is advantageous.
• Strong grasp of Identity & Access Management (IAM) concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Identity Federation.
• Expertise with authentication and authorization techniques.
• Experience configuring and integrating using SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), LDAP, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with SCIM and identity provisioning mechanisms.
• Skills in access policy creation and application integration.
• Understanding of API security and reverse proxy configurations.
• Experience with WebSEAL, IBM Security Directory, and LDAP.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze logs and resolve security policy issues.
• Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery principles.

Consulting and Professional Services Skills

• Conducting customer requirements gathering and technical discovery phases.
• IAM solution architecture development and design.
• Preparing high-level and low-level design documents, implementation and migration plans.
• Facilitating customer workshops, technical presentations, and demonstrations.
• Planning and executing implementation and deployment phases.
• Managing technical risks and resolving issues efficiently.
• Delivering knowledge transfer and training to clients.
• Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and customers.
• Managing multiple client engagements and balancing priorities effectively.

Experience Required

• A minimum of 5 to 8 years in IAM, cybersecurity, identity security, or security consulting roles.
• Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Security Verify and IBM Security Verify Access solutions.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing enterprise IAM infrastructures.
• Deep understanding of SSO, federation, authentication, and authorization processes.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications with IAM platforms.
• Proficient with SAML, OAuth, OIDC, LDAP, and REST APIs implementations.
• Prior exposure to Professional Services or consulting environments is highly favorable.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills with customer-facing experience.
