Job description
Overview
This position is ideal for a Workplace Health and Safety professional located on the Central Coast seeking greater responsibility and the opportunity to influence safety practices significantly. This role breaks away from typical safety positions focused on administrative tasks and paperwork, offering a chance to engage directly on the factory floor, collaborate with teams, and lead impactful safety measures.
Key Responsibilities
The role entails conducting thorough inspections, identifying potential workplace hazards, supporting risk assessments and incident investigations, and collaborating with staff and supervisors to ensure safety concerns are effectively resolved. You will facilitate toolbox talks, employee inductions, training sessions, and Safety Committee activities, while managing safety documentation, registers, and overseeing contractor compliance. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to innovate and improve safety systems and automation processes.
Candidate Profile
We seek applicants with approximately three years of workplace health and safety experience, solid foundational knowledge, and the confidence to take full ownership of responsibilities. Comfort working on the factory floor and addressing unsafe behaviors head-on is essential. Familiarity with risk evaluations, the Hierarchy of Controls, and proficiency in Excel and safety management systems are required. Experience in manufacturing is advantageous but not mandatory.
About the Employer
The employer, Baltimore Aircoil, is a globally expanding manufacturer with operations in Somersby. The site promotes a robust safety culture and is undergoing continual development of new systems, processes, and operational areas, creating a promising environment for career growth and real influence in WHS practices.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range is $90,000 to $100,000 annually plus superannuation. Employees receive one rostered day off each month and benefit from a progressive safety culture. This role offers excellent career-building prospects within a global organization close to home, eliminating the need for commuting to Sydney.
