Role Overview
The Technical Data Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining client investment data by analyzing raw information, constructing data systems and pipelines, and performing complex data analyses. The role involves synthesizing data from multiple sources to align with client and organizational requirements, improving data accuracy, and enhancing overall data quality and reliability.
Core Responsibilities

- Design and develop reliable data systems and pipelines to enable smooth data flow.
- Analyze intricate data sets and generate comprehensive reports summarizing findings.
- Utilize advanced data visualization methods to clearly communicate results.
- Integrate data from diverse sources to create unified, actionable datasets.
- Continuously seek innovative strategies to elevate data quality and dependability.
- Create and deploy analytical tools that facilitate data-driven decision-making across teams.
- Engage collaboratively with system architects and product developers to foster innovation and excellence.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and big data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of database design principles and data warehousing concepts.
- Understanding of investment-related data is advantageous.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, for example, Java, Python, or VBA.
- Expertise in data manipulation, cleansing, and governance best practices.
- A mindset geared towards continuous improvement for oneself and the team.
- Capability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Comfort handling extensive datasets and performing data mining operations.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail accompanied by meticulous documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Robust problem-solving aptitude.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, accounting, computer science, or a related field.
- Minimum of four years' experience in data analytics, reporting, and data visualization.
- Hands-on experience with both SQL and NoSQL database systems.
- Practical knowledge of ETL (extract, transfer, load) and data integration processes.
- Experience using data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
- Familiarity with dbt or Prophecy tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
