Job description
Position Overview
This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues relating to computer systems and peripheral devices. The Systems Operator will address hardware and software errors, provide guidance to overcome technical challenges, and liaise with vendors or technicians for major repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair faults with computer hardware and associated peripherals such as printers and scanners.
- Respond promptly to software error notifications by identifying faults, rectifying them, or halting programs as needed.
- Offer technical advice and solutions to resolve business process difficulties.
- Refer significant hardware or software malfunctions and defective equipment to external service providers for expert attention.
- Operate computers and peripheral devices by entering commands and activating controls to ensure integrated functioning.
- Maintain and update technological equipment and software, including website-related technical architecture and telecommunication setups.
Safety and Communication
- Immediately report workplace accidents or injuries to supervisors.
- Identify, correct, or report unsafe work practices or conditions to relevant management and safety personnel.
- Follow established emergency procedures for situations such as evacuations and medical crises.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues using electronic tools like pagers, radios, and emails.
- Utilize various forms of information display and devices to access and verify work-related data.
Physical Requirements
- Perform tasks involving bending, twisting, lifting, reaching overhead or below the knees, and moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Additional Duties
Carry out other reasonable assignments as directed by supervisors.
Candidate Profile
- Education: Completion of high school or equivalent qualification (G.E.D).
- No prior work experience or supervisory role is required.
- No professional licenses or certifications are necessary.
