Job description
Position Summary
The painter will be responsible for applying paint, stains, and various finishes to walls, ceilings, and furniture using tools such as brushes, rollers, or spray guns. Preparation tasks include priming surfaces and removing old finishes through methods like sanding, stripping, wire brushing, or abrasive blasting. The role involves protecting surrounding surfaces, placing signage during painting operations, and cleaning and storing equipment properly. Close coordination with vendors is required to adjust paint or stain colors as needed.
Key Duties
- Apply coatings and finishes using manual and mechanical methods.
- Prepare surfaces to ensure optimal adherence of finish coats.
- Remove old paint and finishes by various mechanical and chemical techniques.
- Protect areas from paint spills and place safety signs appropriately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tools and materials.
- Collaborate with suppliers to modify paint or varnish colors accordingly.
- Follow company safety and security protocols and complete all required training.
- Report maintenance issues, hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and asset protection.
- Engage politely with guests, provide assistance and anticipate their needs.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and guests.
- Support team objectives to meet quality standards.
- Perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Completion of technical, trade, or vocational education preferred.
- At least one year of relevant work experience required.
- No supervisory responsibility expected.
- No specific licenses or certifications necessary.
