Role Overview

Joining Visa's global Authorization Operations team means supporting real-time payment processing systems, including the TPF-based VIP/VisaNet authorization platform and the OVN (Open VisaNet) platform. As a Systems Analyst, you will handle first-level operational response and assist in mitigating potential issues affecting clients or the Visa brand. Operating within a multi-datacenter, multi-processing environment, you’ll oversee system monitoring, collaborate with internal teams to resolve incidents, and guide team members during your shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor Visa Authorization consoles and provide first-level responses to system alerts and incidents.
  • Operate in a multi-datacenter environment supporting Visa's Authorization systems.
  • Execute precise system commands to support issue resolution under guidance from specialized support teams.
  • Function as essential staff supporting Visa’s 24x7x365 operations, including during weather or disaster events.
  • Track, update, and manage incidents, changes, and problem reports adhering to high documentation standards.
  • Provide guidance and review of tickets assigned to the team, identifying trends and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Promptly escalate incidents according to established support protocols.
  • Collaborate with Level 2 and Level 3 support and development teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Follow documented support procedures to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and service levels are maintained.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, both in person and virtually.
  • Oversee activities of team members, facilitating communication and documentation efforts.
  • Develop and update operational procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Maintain and enhance technical expertise through ongoing training.
  • Represent the Authorization Operations team in cross-functional meetings as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in Singapore with a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of three in-office days weekly, coordinated with the Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • Basic: At least 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience without a degree.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
  • Hands-on experience with critical applications on IBM TPF or equivalent real-time operating systems, or open-source distributed systems using Linux, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
  • Technical background in supporting mainframe and open systems hardware, software, and utilities within multi-processing environments.
  • Familiarity with operating systems and tools such as Linux, Unix, MVS, VM, SuperVision, HMC, ServiceNow, CoPilot, ChatGPT, Kubernetes, Kafka, Opera, DB2, ClickHouse, Splunk, or Cassandra.
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and incident management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic workload.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to quickly master proprietary Visa tools and industry-standard monitoring and response solutions.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or willingness to attain it within six months.
