Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using PySpark within Hadoop ecosystems to efficiently extract, transform, and load marketing-related data from various platforms.
- Support experimentation initiatives such as A/B testing, incrementality assessments, and geographically segmented experiments to accurately evaluate marketing effectiveness; prepare and sustain pipelines for Marketing Mix Modeling projects.
- Manage integration and data flow between Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and Customer Data Platforms (CDP), including audience segmentation, supporting personalization strategies, and maintaining unified customer profiles.
- Implement data quality frameworks featuring automated validation and anomaly detection to ensure data reliability and uphold privacy standards like GDPR and CCPA.
- Create automated processes for campaign reporting and comprehensive marketing performance dashboards to provide actionable insights regarding customer acquisition, ROI, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, analytics, data science, and other teams to transform requirements into technical implementations; contribute to audience definition, segmentation, and measurement criteria for campaigns.
- Work closely with marketing data stewards to ensure adherence to data ingestion protocols, audience validation standards, and data quality expectations; support management of consumer identifiers and secure, privacy-compliant tokenization methods for audience activation and measurement.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in Python programming, including PySpark and Spark SQL for data processing.
- Advanced command of SQL for sophisticated data manipulation and analytical tasks.
- In-depth understanding of data ingestion protocols pertaining to marketing automation systems.
- Experience working with Hadoop ecosystem components such as HDFS, Hive, and YARN.
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Airflow or Oozie.
- Knowledge of experimentation and data science techniques, including A/B testing, incrementality measurement, and lift analysis.
- Practical experience with marketing automation platforms such as WebEngage, Adobe Campaign, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Understanding marketing audience deployment workflows including segmentation across various channels like email, mobile, web, and paid media.
- Expertise in customer identity resolution and audience matching through techniques like unique consumer identifiers, hashed IDs, and tokenization, ensuring privacy compliance.
- Knowledge of first-party data strategies aligned with privacy-conscious measurement frameworks.
- Competence in using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Google Data Studio.
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated capability and willingness to work collaboratively with global stakeholders, including participation in meetings across diverse time zones as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing survey-based marketing research including sampling, hold-out group setup, questionnaire development, and response evaluation.
- Demonstrated expertise in customer lifecycle analytics.
- Previous exposure to marketing analytics in B2B settings or product marketing data management, including dashboard creation for lead generation and qualification measurement.
- Background in analyzing marketing activities such as content creation, events (trade shows, webinars), partner marketing, CRM through email, and media campaigns.
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently solve problems and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Additional Information
Visa expects employees to spend at least three days per week in the office; specific scheduling is to be determined by the Hiring Manager.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Marketing Technology, Audience Strategy, or related disciplines.
- Five to eight years of experience in data analytics or data engineering, preferably focused on marketing-related data.
- Certifications related to cloud platforms, Salesforce, or data governance are advantageous.
- Business-level proficiency in English with excellent communication skills, capable of preparing presentations and engaging senior stakeholders.
- Experience with data visualization, particularly Tableau, and analytics-focused data presentation.
- Exposure to big data environments and Agile, fast-paced work settings.
- Strong understanding of SQL, data modeling (star schemas, snowflake), and foundational probability and statistics.
- Experience managing multiple tasks and working effectively in a matrixed organizational environment.
Preferred Additional Skills
- Experience in service level management or SLA reporting within technology-driven contexts.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Tableau.
- Experience mentoring team members and fostering collaboration.
- Knowledge of the payments industry or prior experience with Visa is a plus.
