System Test Manager

Overview

We are in search of a seasoned and driven System Test Manager to spearhead our testing team and guarantee the timely delivery of superior software products. This role involves crafting strategic testing plans, coordinating resources effectively, and maintaining rigorous quality standards. The position also requires adaptability to work during night and after-office hours as necessary.

Key Duties

• Formulate and uphold detailed test strategies, plans, and processes that correspond to project needs and organizational goals.
• Lead and inspire a team of testers to maximize productivity, maintain quality standards, and sustain high motivation levels.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, software managers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and delineate testing scopes.
• Supervise testing phases including functional, regression, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing.
• Track, analyze, and report critical testing metrics while regularly updating senior management on status, quality, and potential risks.
• Identify potential risks associated with software deployment and releases and develop mitigation strategies.
• Oversee management of testing environments, tools, and automation frameworks to boost efficiency and breadth of testing.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and organizational quality policies.
• Promote continuous enhancement of testing methodologies through feedback and retrospective practices.
• Coordinate and manage testing efforts with external vendors or partners when required.
• Provide necessary support for testing activities scheduled during night and outside standard working hours.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 15 years’ professional experience in software testing and quality assurance, including at least 10 years in a managerial position overseeing comprehensive testing initiatives in large-scale projects within both Agile and Waterfall frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale testing and commissioning, particularly in transportation or traffic management systems, including enterprise-level Traffic Management Systems, is beneficial.
• Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with test management and automation tools like JIRA, TestRail, Selenium, and UFT, alongside defect tracking systems.
• Demonstrated capability in managing vendor partnerships and stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Strong knowledge of test management principles and processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills combined with analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities within a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with performance testing techniques is considered an advantage.
