About the Role
Autism A Chara is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for their respite service based in Gorey, County Wexford. This part-time role requires working 39 hours per week on a shift rota, including evenings, weekends, and waking night duties. The role centers on supporting individuals with complex needs through a person-centred approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing person-centred support to people with complex needs.
- Assisting with daily living activities and personal care routines.
- Supporting individuals to engage actively in their community.
- Assisting service users in acquiring new skills.
- Facilitating understanding of rights and decision-making capabilities for service users.
- Driving service vehicles as required.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a full QQI level 5 major award in Health/Care.
- Strong understanding of the Key Worker/Support Worker roles and philosophies.
- Experience with programme planning and person-centred plans.
- Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to adapt communication to individual needs.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Full, clean Irish driving license required to operate service vehicles.
- Permission to work legally in Ireland.
