Job description
Position Overview
This opportunity is based in Naas, County Kildare, offering a part-time role of 39 hours per week as a Support Worker at Autism A Chara, focused on respite services.
Essential Qualifications and Criteria
- Possession of a full QQI Level 5 major award in Health/Care is mandatory.
- Understanding of the roles of Key Worker and Support Worker along with the philosophy of supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Experience or knowledge of programme planning with a focus on Person Centred Plans.
- Availability to work on a shift rota including evenings, weekends, and waking night duties.
- A full, clean Irish driving license is essential given the responsibility to operate service vehicles.
- Authorization to work in Ireland is required.

- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative.
- Empathy and patience, adapting communication styles for individual needs.
- A genuine passion for person-centred support and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding the specific needs and personal preferences of those needing support.
- Providing assistance with daily living activities, including personal care.
- Engaging individuals in community participation and encouraging skill development.
- Supporting individuals to understand their rights and facilitate decision-making.
