Job Overview

The Support Worker will assist individuals with disabilities in daily activities, including personal care, mobility assistance, and facilitating participation in community and virtual activities. The role aims to help develop opportunities for the individuals in training, employment, and community inclusion.

Employment Details

  • Position type: Permanent
  • Contract hours: Full-time and part-time options available
  • Salary range: 35,070 - 42,440 pro rata annually, with increments for long service
  • Pay increases apply in 2026 following recent agreements
  • Annual leave: 30 days pro rata; reduced proportionally for service under 12 months
  • Immediate start required

Key Responsibilities

The Support Worker will provide assistance in all aspects of daily living for service users, supporting personal care and mobility, and promoting access to activities and opportunities for greater inclusion in the community.

Candidate Criteria

Essential:

  • FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Social Care or an equivalent healthcare qualification, or actively pursuing such certification with completion of 2-3 relevant modules
  • Valid, full, clean Class B driving licence
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities in employment, voluntary, or personal contexts
  • Experience providing personal care to adults
  • Experience working with adults in social or leisure environments
  • Experience in community-based or non-centre-based settings
  • Basic IT skills
  • Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance
  • Ability to position and secure wheelchairs and their users in vehicles

  • The position will be subject to reference checks and potentially police vetting
  • A panel may be created for similar future vacancies up to 12 months
