Job description
Position Overview
This role involves leading and supporting a team of Stewards to improve cleaning efficiency within the food and beverage department. Responsibilities include monitoring water temperature and chemical levels to ensure proper sanitation protocols are followed and documented. Assisting with banquet plate-ups, supporting cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks, and managing stock for banquets and buffets also form part of the role. The position requires operation and upkeep of cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash and pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors.
Leadership and Safety
The Supervisor will aid management in staff hiring, training, scheduling, performance assessments, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching. Adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and security procedures is mandatory, including reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions. Uniform and personal appearance must be maintained professionally, alongside upholding confidentiality and protecting company property.
Guest Service and Teamwork
The role necessitates welcoming guests warmly according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs professionally. Effective, clear communication and maintaining positive relationships within the team are essential to achieving shared objectives. Ensuring quality standards and expectations are met consistently is critical.
Physical Demands and Other Duties
This position requires physical ability to lift, move, and carry items up to 50 pounds unassisted, extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, and performing movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The employee will navigate uneven or slippery surfaces and perform other reasonable tasks as requested by supervisors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience
- No specific license or certification required
