Role Overview
The Student Success Coordinator, based full-time at the Accra office, is responsible for assisting students and families engaged in the organization's mentorship, scholarship, and tour programs. Responsibilities include guiding students in academic and career goal setting, tracking their advancement, and linking them to mentors and relevant resources. The role entails organizing workshops and orientations, maintaining clear communication with all stakeholders, managing scholarship applications with transparency, and handling logistics for educational tours. This position also involves monitoring participation and outcomes, preparing reports, and collaborating across teams to enhance student services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide personalized academic advising and mentorship focused on student achievement and wellness.
- Coordinate program operations including organizing events and managing scheduling and logistics.
- Engage effectively with students, families, educators, and partners through clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, utilizing office software tools for data management.
- Oversee scholarship applications and ensure fairness and transparency in the process.
- Manage coordination and logistics for educational tours and track involved participants and outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling, or a related discipline, or comparable experience.
- At least one year of experience in a role involving educational leadership.
- Proficiency in counseling and mentoring students with attention to their academic success and well-being.
- Strong skills in organizing programs, including event planning and logistical coordination.
- Competent communication skills for engaging diverse groups including families and institutions.
- Basic administrative skills including data management, record keeping, and reporting.
- Experience working with youth and in community or student support contexts is advantageous.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and ability to interact with diverse populations.
- Availability to work on-site in Accra with flexibility, including occasional evenings or weekends.
