Job description
Job Overview
Provide expert-level technical support for the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of programs aligned with both internal and external client requirements. Lead the planning and execution of complete statistical programming tasks connected to projects. Function as a key technical authority within the Statistical Programming team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, test, and document programming for the generation of statistical tables, visualizations, and listings.
- Develop analysis datasets and manage data transfers for clients both internally and externally.
- Conduct quality control and validation of databases as necessary.
- Integrate data from various studies or sources through programming.
- Prepare and update programming documentation including plans and technical specifications.
- Offer technical guidance to stakeholders and independently deliver project-based solutions.
- Develop and implement new workflows, macros, applications, and technologies ensuring validation standards are met.
- Take on the responsibilities of statistical team lead for individual study projects under supervision.
- Interpret project scope, estimate workloads, and manage out-of-scope tasks for single-study projects.
- Possibly handle budgeting and resource allocation including forecasting revenue and needs for studies.
- Understand and apply budgeting and quoting principles where necessary.
- Provide mentoring, training, and ongoing support to junior and newly hired staff.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar with at least one year relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with minimum two years relevant experience, or
- Equivalent education, training, and experience combination.
- Familiarity with statistics, programming, and clinical drug development processes.
- Proficient in computing applications such as Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and leadership capabilities.
- Capable of efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong focus on accuracy and detail orientation.
- Adept at building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
