Job description
Overview
This role involves delivering advanced technical expertise to design, develop, and maintain programs addressing the requirements of both internal teams and external clients. The candidate will lead the full range of statistical programming tasks and serve as a technical resource within the Statistical Programming department.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and perform programming, testing, and documentation for creating statistical tables, figures, and listing summaries.
- Develop analysis databases (derived datasets) and manage data transfers for internal and external stakeholders.
- Program quality control checks on databases as needed.
- Integrate databases coming from various studies or sources through programming techniques.
- Prepare comprehensive programming documentation including plans and specifications.
- Provide expert technical guidance independently and collaboratively with clients and internal teams to deliver project solutions.
- Lead development, implementation, and validation of new process technologies, macros, and applications.
- Act as statistical team lead for individual studies, operating under supervision.
- Understand project scope, assess work progress, manage out-of-scope activities, and may oversee budgets and resources for single studies including forecasts.
- Train and mentor junior and new staff members.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines with over six years of pertinent experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with over six years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent blend of education, training, and practical experience.
- Familiarity with statistics, programming, and clinical drug development processes.
- Proficiency in computing tools such as Base SAS, SAS/STAT, and SAS Macro Language.
- Strong organizational abilities, interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and communication aptitude.
- Aptitude for managing simultaneous projects and tasks effectively.
- Exceptional precision and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to build and sustain effective professional relationships with colleagues, managers, and clients.
