Team Overview

The CSS team at ADI specializes in leading technological domains through distinctive sensing and signal processing products. Their focus areas include Capacitive Sensing, Optical Image Stabilization, and Optical Sensing earmarked for the expanding Consumer business, offering candidates exciting prospects for career growth amidst a motivated and collaborative environment.

Position Summary

The Staff Engineer will join the Consumer Product development group, tasked with engineering mixed-signal subsystems for next-generation consumer products. These chips integrate digital signal processing with embedded microprocessor systems and high-precision analog components, providing an excellent chance to work with cutting-edge physical design techniques and broaden expertise across technical domains. This role is based in the Cork, Ireland office.

Key Duties

  • Creating floorplans and designing power/ground and clock distribution networks.
  • Executing logic synthesis, cell placement, and routing interconnects.
  • Performing equivalence checks, achieving timing closure, and conducting physical verification including LVS and DRC.
  • Collaborating closely with RTL designers to address complex challenges.
  • Taking ownership and delivering large-scale digital subsystems.
  • Planning schedules and tracking project progress.
  • Working effectively with engineers located across different sites.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering/Electronics and Communication Engineering with over 10 years of practical experience in digital implementation.
  • Expertise in floorplanning, placement and routing, CTS, STA, ECO workflows, power analysis, and verifying physical design.
  • Comprehensive background in synthesis and defining timing constraints.
  • Proven experience implementing designs at 40nm technology node.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, SKILL, and Perl.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art tools, with a preference for Cadence software.
  • Experience using version control systems like Perforce or Methodics.
  • Understanding of CPF/UPF low-power design methodologies is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso software is beneficial.
  • Awareness of foundry design rules and the capability to generate tape-out-ready GDS2 databases is a plus.
  • Capability to take technical ownership and independently manage implementation assignments when required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
