About the Role
Join a leading fintech company, Fiserv, which facilitates millions of secure financial transactions daily, affecting how money and information move globally. As a Staff DevOps Engineer at Clover, a Fiserv business, you will be instrumental in advancing and managing the technical infrastructure that supports innovative financial technology projects. This role involves developing scalable and resilient systems designed to enhance client efficiency and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate existing technologies and devise strategies to improve and broaden their implementation.
- Create, manage, and oversee temporary development environments.
- Administer and support multiple microservices platforms.
- Automate and maintain software deployment and delivery through CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to sustain hardware and software resources essential for project success.
- Adopt and apply agile methodologies and tools for producing quality software in weekly sprint cycles.
- Architect and deploy scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems tailored to complex demands.
- Establish and embed best practices across software development, including security, monitoring, and telemetry enhancements.
Essential Qualifications
- Over a decade of experience in comparable DevOps roles.
- Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, and shell scripting (bash).
- Competence with Linux system administration, networking, and GNU makefiles.
- Experience designing and managing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, Spinnaker, or similar.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Skilled in metric collection and analysis using Wavefront, Prometheus, Datadog, or NewRelic, including SLO and SLA configuration.
- Hands-on experience with cloud services including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, GKE, EKS, AKS, Rancher, or OpenShift.
- Strong Linux expertise and cloud application deployment experience.
- Understanding of infrastructure and product security principles.
Additional Desired Skills
- Academic background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Experience as a Linux Administrator, particularly CentOS.
- Familiarity with Python automation and configuration management using Puppet or Chef.
- Database administration experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL and strong RDBMS/SQL capabilities.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools including TCollector, DataDog, and Grafana.
- Web technologies: YAML/XML, ELK Stack, Git/Github/GitLab administration.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and tools such as Bash, Java, Yum/RPM.
- Familiarity with network services like DNS, LDAP, and additional exposure to cloud platforms like GCP and AWS.
