Solution Engineering Manager - Azure Cloud Services

Overview

As a Solution Engineering Manager at Microsoft, you will take charge of a team of technical sales experts dedicated to supporting customers in fulfilling their business and technology ambitions through Microsoft solutions.

This position merges leadership responsibilities, technical direction, customer interaction, and collaboration with partners. Your role includes empowering your team to establish trusted advisor roles, secure technical victories, provide outstanding customer experiences, and boost adoption of Microsoft technologies by clients. You will also collaborate with internal Microsoft teams and external partners to develop strategic approaches, ensure technical preparedness, and maintain consistent execution during client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-achieving Solution Engineering team focused on technical expertise and impactful customer outcomes.
• Establish strong connections with technical decision-makers within customer organizations and guide your team to execute successful engagements and achieve technical wins.
• Craft and implement technical sales plans that align customers' business goals with Microsoft technologies.
• Collaborate with Microsoft departments and partner organizations to promote solution adoption, ensure customer success, and drive business expansion.
• Manage activities such as solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical interactions to support customers in reaching their transformation objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or an associated discipline with over four years of experience in technical pre-sales or consulting; OR
• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with at least six years of technical pre-sales or consulting experience; OR
• Have a minimum of seven years' experience in technical pre-sales or consulting; OR
• Equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• More than eight years of experience in technical pre-sales, consulting, technology delivery, or related functions.
• At least six years working with cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure covering architecture design, migrations, or technology management.
• Minimum of three years' experience managing teams, including remote leadership.
