About the Role
Join as a Software Engineer specializing in Java backend development to design, build, and sustain robust enterprise backend services and APIs tailored for the banking sector. You will work with scalable and secure digital banking platforms supporting various channels including mobile and corporate banking, focusing on high-performance microservices and cloud deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend microservices and APIs using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Create secure, scalable, and resilient banking applications for digital channels such as mobile, internet, and corporate banking.
- Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services in compliance with enterprise API standards and governance.
- Deploy and support applications on Microsoft Azure utilizing cloud-native services and container environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps, security specialists, and product squads for comprehensive solution delivery.
- Implement OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and apply API security, encryption, and secure coding practices.
- Address production issues, fine-tune application performance, and assist in managing software releases.
- Engage in Agile ceremonies, participate in design and code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD pipeline setup.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in backend development with at least 3 years focused on Spring Boot microservices.
- Proven background in delivering enterprise solutions in banking, fintech, payments, or financial services domains.
- Strong knowledge of banking integration patterns and API Gateway technologies like Kong and Layer7.
- Experience working in highly regulated environments with attention to security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Familiarity with building mission-critical, scalable systems with high availability.
- Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps practices, and containerized cloud-native application development.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, IBM MQ, or Rabbit MQ.
- Understanding of container orchestration platforms including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and Istio service mesh.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with API management platforms like Kong or Azure API Management.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure Application Insights.
- Domain knowledge in Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, Payments, Treasury, Lending, Customer Onboarding, or Digital Banking.
- Exposure to AI initiatives, cloud migration, and modernization projects.
Certifications
- Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) preferred.
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) preferred.
- Oracle Java Certification preferred.
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD) preferred.
- Agile or Scrum Developer certifications preferred.
