About the Role
Vista Group seeks a skilled Intermediate or Senior Full Stack .NET Software Engineer to join the Platform team. This team develops fundamental libraries, services, and tools that empower product engineering units across the company. Candidates who enjoy working end-to-end—from delivering scalable backend services to crafting seamless frontend experiences—will find this role rewarding.
You will engage in building cloud-native services, platform tooling, and modern web applications used by engineering and product teams organization-wide. The role demands high standards in code quality, security, performance, observability, accessibility, and test coverage.
Responsibilities
- Develop core backend services, libraries, APIs, and tools using C# and .NET to support reliable and scalable product delivery.
- Create modern web user interfaces using Angular or comparable frontend frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with your squad, other engineering teams, and architects to design and maintain a secure, resilient, and efficient platform.
- Ensure engineering excellence by writing consistent, maintainable, accessible, and well-tested code for both frontend and backend systems.
- Influence API design, system architecture, and UX to maximize value for engineers and end users.
- Mentor junior engineers to foster technical and professional growth.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to speed delivery, enhance code quality, assist refactoring, and improve architectural decisions.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced full stack developer capable of operating across multiple technology layers, who thrives solving complex software challenges and producing high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.
Key required skills include:
- Proficiency in C# and .NET for backend development.
- Experience with frontend technologies, preferably Angular, or willingness to learn other modern frontend frameworks.
- Command of web technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS with current best practices.
- Expertise in building and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with containerization and deployment technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Octopus Deploy, and Azure Pipelines.
- Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge of modern delivery methodologies such as CI/CD, Agile workflows, and automated testing.
- Usage of AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code standards.
- A passion for creating reliable platform capabilities used across engineering teams.
Work Environment and Conditions
This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, with one day per week required onsite at the Auckland office. Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand without employer sponsorship.
