About the Role
Join the AWS Developer Tools team dedicated to enhancing developer productivity and adoption of AWS by providing integrated tools that streamline the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience. Our mission is to establish AWS as the preferred cloud platform by offering seamless integration with existing SDLC workflows, benefiting developers at every maturity stage from newcomers to enterprise users. This team is part of AWS Utility Computing which supports a broad range of services such as Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, and other productivity applications. You will contribute to designing, building, and managing AWS services that optimize the cloud development experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the software engineering team including recruitment and growth support.
- Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and oversee daily development activities ensuring a strategic and evolving development process.
- Lead improvements in engineering practices including establishing metrics, development methodologies, and innovation.
- Uphold high standards throughout the DevOps lifecycle encompassing design, automation, documentation, monitoring, and rigorous testing.

Basic Qualifications
- Strong understanding of engineering best practices covering the complete software, hardware, and network development lifecycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and operational support.
- Proven experience in managing engineering teams.
- Hands-on software engineering background.
- Have led the design and development of multi-tier web services.
- Collaborate effectively with product and program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Communicate effectively with customers, cross-functional teams, and leadership to gather requirements and articulate product strategy and technical designs.
- Experience in recruiting, mentoring, coaching, and enhancing the effectiveness of software engineering teams.
