Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Software Engineers to join our energetic team, working closely with a leading financial services client. The position focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems, cooperating tightly with frontend teams, DevOps, and product organizations. Ideal candidates are problem solvers who value writing clean, sustainable code and thrive in collaborative, delivery-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain secure, reliable Java applications using Spring and Spring Batch frameworks.
- Ensure service scalability and performance for distributed backend systems.
- Participate in peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical leadership.
- Support continuous integration and deployment workflows to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Modernize legacy system functions to support microservices architecture.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues through thorough root cause analysis.
- Operate within Agile/Scrum settings, actively engaging in all sprint ceremonies and maintaining strong JIRA usage.
- Emphasize early defect detection through analysis and testing collaborations.
- Work closely with product teams to gain business domain insights aiding development and testing efforts.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, testers, and DevOps personnel.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in Java (JDK 8+) with expertise in Spring Integration, Spring Kafka, and Spring Batch.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Strong background in microservices architecture and SQL database management, especially Oracle.
- Practical knowledge of messaging and streaming technologies such as ActiveMQ and Kafka.
- Experience with containerization and cloud-native tools including Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and OpenShift.
- Competence with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Gradle, and Maven.
- Experience with caching mechanisms and source control management using Redis, Git, and GitLab.
- Awareness of quality assurance methodologies and best practices in software testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership experience within the Financial Services sector.
- Background in AI technologies that enhance testing efficiency and product quality.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Familiarity with additional CI/CD tools beyond UDeploy, e.g., Jenkins, GitLab.
- Knowledge of Docker containerization.
- Experience using performance/load testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
