Position Overview

U-Haul is seeking motivated individuals for the Shop Helper role, offering an excellent opportunity to assist our repair shop staff and gain hands-on experience with vehicle maintenance. Previous experience isn't mandatory, making this role ideal for first-time industry workers or those possessing some vehicle repair knowledge. Job Responsibilities
- Operate specialized machinery to dismount, balance, and mount tires efficiently.
- Oversee battery maintenance and recycling processes to ensure operational reliability.
- Uphold cleanliness and organization in the work environment consistently.
- Utilize equipment for resurfacing brake rotors and drums as required.
- Assist in rebuilding trailer systems including brake systems and equalizers.
- Support repair shop personnel with various tasks as needed.
- Operate forklifts safely (forklift certification is required).
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
You will work in an environment involving moderate hazards such as operating around moving machinery, fumes, and chemicals that require adherence to safety precautions including personal protective equipment like masks, gloves, goggles, or shields. The role involves physical tasks such as standing indoors and outdoors for long intervals, navigating within workspaces, reaching tools, and lifting or assisting in moving loads up to 50 pounds.
