Shift Leader - One Stop Store

Role Summary

As a Shift Leader at One Stop, you will play a crucial part in managing daily store operations to provide the simplest and most enjoyable shopping experience for customers within the community. This leadership role involves overseeing store opening and closing procedures, ensuring safety, supporting store events, and leading colleagues effectively.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the team to facilitate an easy and pleasant shopping visit for customers.
• Manage store opening, closing, and duty coverage while making customer and colleague-focused decisions that ensure safety and operational excellence.
• Serve as the primary contact for colleagues regarding daily operational inquiries in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Assist the Store Manager in organizing seasonal, community, and charitable events to foster an engaging store environment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and inventory replenishment as per customer priorities.
• Monitor point of sale and shelf edge signage to ensure accurate merchandising and pricing, promptly address overcharges, and prevent recurrence.
• Effectively manage customer queues and balance staff breaks with store trade patterns.
• Communicate clearly and regularly with the team to keep everyone informed and motivated.
• Propose and share operational improvement ideas with the Store Manager to streamline processes.
• Prioritize excellent customer service, handle queries to satisfaction, and adapt service to individual customer needs.
• Recognize and celebrate outstanding colleague performance and resolve team issues or escalate as necessary.
• Ensure the store is aptly staffed, managing short-notice absences by arranging shifts coverage.
• Act as a qualified Keyholder, including responding to alarm call outs to secure the store.
• Monitor and ensure internal communications are actioned promptly and all colleagues stay informed.
• Support absence management policies, including conducting return-to-work interviews and reporting triggers following company guidelines.
• Build productive relationships with the Area Manager and People Partner to access support and coaching opportunities.
