Position Overview
We invite experienced Senior Software Engineers skilled in TypeScript, Next.js, and Node.js to join our Berlin Engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating smooth web experiences that help users discover smart shopping features tailored to their preferences via search, navigation, and personalized homepages. Your work will directly influence how millions engage with our platforms, facilitating informed, fair, and rewarding shopping decisions.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build modern solutions employing Next.js, AWS technologies, microservices, NoSQL databases, and event-driven design.
- Own solution architecture enhancements focusing on optimizing performance, security, scalability, modularity, and operational efficiency.
- Lead end-to-end feature development aligned with an ambitious product roadmap.
- Share technical knowledge and explore emerging technologies with the team.
- Promote open communication, encourage constructive feedback, and assist in resolving conflicts within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 6 years’ professional experience in software development.
- Strong command of Next.js and Node.js, including building reusable libraries based on atomic design principles.
- Solid expertise in object-oriented programming along with event-based concurrency systems.
- Advanced proficiency with TypeScript and its type system environment.
- Deep knowledge of GraphQL technologies.
- Excellent architectural thinking and design pattern awareness.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Experience with Apollo GraphQL framework.
- Familiarity with PHP Symfony framework.
- Exposure to AWS cloud services.
- Basic understanding of SQL databases and schema-less systems.
- Knowledge of end-to-end testing tools such as WebdriverIO or Selenium.
