Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Flexton Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with over 7 years in software development to join our Bengaluru-based engineering team. You will primarily focus on backend development using Java and Spring Boot for customer support applications while occasionally contributing to frontend development efforts.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services leveraging Java and Spring Boot technologies.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs tailored to customer support tools.
• Enhance applications targeted at improving efficiency for customer service agents.
• Contribute primarily to backend systems with occasional frontend feature development as needed.
• Collaborate across teams including product management, architecture, QA, and support to deliver robust solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues through thorough troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Produce clean, reusable, well-tested, and maintainable codebases.
• Engage in architectural discussions, code reviews, and key technical decisions.
• Ensure software solutions comply with performance, scalability, security, and reliability standards.
• Promote continuous enhancement of coding practices, development processes, and engineering standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years professional experience in software development.
• Proficient in Java programming language and Spring Boot framework.
• Demonstrated expertise designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Strong grasp of backend architectures, object-oriented design, and established software engineering principles.
• Experience with database management and data-driven application development.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum development methodologies.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js.
• Awareness of AI/ML or Generative AI technologies (advantageous but not required).
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks.
• Hands-on exposure to cloud services, continuous integration/delivery pipelines, and contemporary software engineering workflows.
