Sr Principal Software Engineer

About the Role

Cadence is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to join its team in Bangalore or Noida. This position involves research and development support for application and product engineers handling customer issues and enhancement requests. The individual will analyze problems, debug, fix issues, and create new features to improve synthesis outcomes related to timing, area, and power optimization.

Responsibilities

• Provide R&D support addressing customer challenges and feature requests for application and product engineering teams.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve software issues to enhance product functionality.
• Develop new features and improvements to increase synthesis performance with respect to timing, area, and power efficiency.
• Create dependable, scalable, and user-friendly Modus DFT software solutions.
• Collaborate in multi-threaded development environments focusing on C++ on Unix platforms.
• Research and engineer software approaches enhancing collaboration between architecture, hardware, and software teams.
• Mentor team members and continually develop one's own programming expertise.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines.
• Extensive experience (12-16 years) in C/C++ software development in multi-threaded Unix environments.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing tools supporting Design for Test (DFT) and Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG).
• Experience working on large-scale software projects with professional software engineering practices.
• Proficiency in Tcl scripting language is preferred.
• Experience with language compiler design or development.
