Role Overview

As a Cloud Applications Engineer / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the accessibility, performance, and robustness of OpenText's cloud applications and services. Your primary duties will involve supporting applications, automating repetitive tasks, crafting scalable solutions, and offering real-time insights on production environments. Collaboration with Agile teams, developers, and business stakeholders is essential to elevate product quality and guarantee dependable service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Improve availability and stability of cloud applications and services through proactive application support.
  • Automate routine operations to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Create solutions capable of managing large-scale deployments.
  • Provide real-time monitoring and feedback on production systems to detect and resolve issues swiftly.
  • Work closely alongside Agile squads, development teams, and business partners to enhance product functionality and client experience.
  • Participate in rotating shifts and handle on-call duties, actively supporting 24/7 production environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems and scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Practical experience with cloud platforms including Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
  • Hands-on knowledge of containerization technologies like Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting tools, and Application Performance Management (APM) solutions such as NewRelic, Dynatrace, and Kibana.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex production incidents independently and collaboratively.
  • Solid organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Understanding of ITIL frameworks, security standards, and efficient application operations.
