Job description
Company Overview
AI71 is an applied research group committed to developing responsible and useful artificial intelligence solutions for knowledge workers. Our teams collaborate closely with industry partners and leverage innovative research from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) to build advanced AI products.
Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic Security Architect to spearhead the security architecture of our AI and data platform. This position involves designing secure systems across AI workloads, data pipelines, and cloud-native infrastructures, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the platform at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and continuously enhance the complete security architecture for AI systems, data platforms, and cloud-native infrastructures.
- Implement and uphold Zero Trust security models, including identity-first approaches, mutual TLS (mTLS), and fine-grained access controls such as RBAC and ABAC.
- Develop secure architectures for distributed systems, event-driven frameworks, and multi-tenant environments.
- Set security protocols for Kubernetes environments focusing on workload isolation, network policy enforcement, and runtime protection.
- Establish container and software supply chain security measures, incorporating image scanning, software bill of materials (SBOM), signing, and provenance tracking.
- Design secure deployment strategies suitable for cloud and restricted or air-gapped settings.
- Implement security controls tailored for large language model applications, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, and data platforms.
- Develop safeguards against AI-specific risks such as data poisoning, model extraction attacks, and data leakage.
- Integrate security into GitOps and continuous integration/deployment workflows using policy-as-code and automated enforcement.
- Maintain secure software development lifecycle practices aligned with ISO 27001 and organizational governance.
- Lead threat modeling exercises, conduct architecture reviews, and validate security measures.
- Define criteria for security observability including audit logging and anomaly detection, and ensure integration with observability tools like OpenTelemetry.
- Act as a security consultant for engineering and AI teams, review technical designs, enforce security standards, and mentor engineers to foster a strong security culture.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in security engineering, architecture, or equivalent roles.
- Proven expertise in designing security architectures for distributed and cloud-native systems.
- In-depth knowledge of Zero Trust concepts, identity and access management (IAM), cryptography, and secure communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with DevSecOps methodologies and secure CI/CD pipeline implementations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background securing artificial intelligence or machine learning systems and data platforms.
- Familiarity with real-time streaming technologies such as Kafka and NATS.
- Experience working in regulated or high-security technological environments.
- Relevant certifications like CISSP or CSSLP.
- Proficiency in automation scripting using Python or Bash.
Why Join AI71?
- Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI technologies emphasizing security and ethical standards.
- Influence the security framework of a next-generation AI platform.
- Collaborate with a diverse and highly skilled team.
- Attractive compensation package including salary, equity, and benefits.
- Potential for professional growth and leadership development.
