Job description
About the Role
This position offers an excellent chance to establish a solid career in safety within a busy manufacturing setting located in Central Mangrove. It's a newly created role fueled by company growth, ideal for someone enthusiastic about learning and hands-on involvement aiming to progress towards a Safety Manager role.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Safety Manager to support daily Work Health and Safety (WHS) functions. Despite involving substantial administrative work, the role extends well beyond desk duties; expect to be actively engaged on the factory floor, interacting with team members, facilitating safety discussions, conducting inspections, managing follow-ups, and assisting in risk identification and mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Support incident investigations, risk assessments, audits, training sessions, and staff inductions.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the site's safety systems and protocols.
- Engage with employees to promote safety awareness, addressing unsafe practices with confidence and approachability.
- Participate in routine safety inspections and follow-up on corrective actions.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
We seek a well-organized and approachable individual who can effectively communicate safety concerns, including handling difficult conversations when necessary. Previous extensive safety experience is not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates transitioning from manufacturing, warehouse, or operational environments.
A Certificate IV in WHS is advantageous but not required, as the company will facilitate a one-week safety course and provide ample on-the-job training to the right candidate.
Company Culture and Benefits
Joining AGRANA, a leader renowned globally for fruit-based ingredients in various products, you will become part of a supportive and collaborative team dedicated to quality and continuous improvement.
Benefits include flexible start and finish times, a 4% annual bonus, time in lieu as required, and a genuine pathway to career growth in safety.
