This is a senior role, suitable for a candidate with 10 to 15 years of experience managing risks on large, complex infrastructure or construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive risk management for over 30 concurrent work packages within the program.
- Create, maintain, and update detailed risk registers at both project and program levels.
- Conduct risk workshops involving project, commercial, and technical teams to identify, evaluate, and quantify risks affecting cost, schedule, and operations.
- Formulate and finalize risk mitigation plans and allowances for contingencies.
- Provide input on risk during pre-contract and bidding stages, aiding in proposal preparation.
- Assist client teams in structuring contract risk allocations and package definitions.
- Collaborate with clients, PMCs, and consultants to monitor risk exposure, presenting updates and mitigation progress to senior stakeholders.
- Transition risk management from ad hoc individual efforts to an organized, program-level approach.
- Develop consistent risk management processes, standards, and templates; produce regular reports, dashboards, and steering committee materials for client reviews.
Candidate Profile
- Possess more than 10 years' experience in project, program, commercial, or risk roles centered on major construction or infrastructure projects, with extensive risk management duties.
- Proven expertise in managing complex airport/aviation or infrastructure programs with multiple simultaneous packages.
- Experience working with or within clients, project management consultants, or consulting firms in the Middle East.
- Confident in engaging with senior stakeholders, influencing decisions effectively.
- Educational background including a degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or related disciplines.
- Preferred professional risk certifications such as IRM or PMI-RMP, or demonstrable equivalent expertise.
- Membership in recognized professional bodies like RICS, ICE, or PMI is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; excellent analytical skills to quantify and prioritize risks.
- Strong communication capabilities, able to persuade and inform leadership and technical teams succinctly.
- Self-motivated, autonomous, and adaptable in a dynamic client environment.
- Systematic, detail-focused approach to work.
