Job description

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Proposal Manager to spearhead the proposal and bid initiatives within our business line, playing a crucial role in the company’s growth and success. This position entails managing the entire proposal lifecycle from initial prospect engagement to final submission, providing leadership and mentorship to the team, collaborating with various departments, and crafting persuasive and well-structured proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the entire bid and proposal process ensuring alignment with governance and risk protocols.
  • Develop strategic proposals encompassing technical approaches, pricing models, and value propositions in partnership with cross-functional groups.
  • Ensure compliance by acting as the gatekeeper for governance, conducting required governance meetings, and maintaining accurate records of all submissions and opportunities.
  • Design and recommend pricing and commercial strategies through detailed analysis such as bottom-up pricing, market benchmarking, cash flow assessment, and pricing optimization.
  • Oversee business development activities by tracking and reporting on pipelines, bids, win/loss results, and key metrics tailored for each business unit.
  • Maintain data quality and integrity within core systems like Oracle Sales, ensuring accurate and timely management of opportunity data.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to serve as a trusted advisor during bidding phases and continuously gather feedback for enhancing processes.
  • Drive continual improvement through post-submission reviews, sharing best practices, and implementing lessons learned to boost proposal effectiveness and success rates.
  • Champion the "Work Winning Ways of Working" by leading training sessions and disseminating best practices to enhance bid management skills and consistency across the business line.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related discipline.
  • 6 to 10 years of professional experience in bid management, proposals, or business development, ideally within the relevant industry sector.
  • Proven leadership skills with a history of successfully managing teams.
  • Strong strategic and commercial insight combined with excellent technical writing capability.
  • Superior organizational abilities coupled with high-level communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient user of CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and collaborative tools.
