Job description
About F9 Project Services
F9 Project Services is a Perth-based specialist consultancy focused on project controls. We design and manage planning, scheduling, and control systems for major capital projects in mining, resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors, collaborating with owners, EPCM firms, and Tier 1 contractors.
Role Overview
The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring schedules across multiple projects. Key duties include creating CPM schedules using Primavera P6, analyzing project progress and performance data, generating reports and dashboards for stakeholders, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to identify risks and milestones, and supporting project control methodology implementation consistent with client needs and F9 standards.
Work Location and Arrangements
This full-time role is based in Perth with various working modes depending on client engagement: a hybrid model combining Perth CBD client site presence and remote work; site-based FIFO or DIDO rotations to regional Western Australia; or entirely remote working arrangements where client delivery permits. Specific arrangements will be tailored and discussed during the interview process.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience building and managing CPM schedules in Primavera P6 for significant capital projects valued over $100 million.
- Strong analytical skills to examine schedule logic, critical path, and float beyond routine progress updates.
- Knowledge of progress measurement techniques, earned value management, and schedule risk analysis, with QSRA expertise considered advantageous.
- Experience within major Tier 1 contractors, owner's teams, or EPCM companies.
- Effective communication skills capable of engaging multidisciplinary teams and presenting complex findings to senior stakeholders.
- Preferred formal qualifications in engineering, construction management, project management, or related fields.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines reliably.
Why Choose F9?
- We emphasize clear and credible scheduling communication, ensuring schedules serve as valuable decision-support tools.
- Project planners work integratively with a range of disciplines, aligning schedules with cost, risk, estimation, and construction inputs.
- F9 is evaluated based on the tangible value and impact delivered through planning and controls work, beyond mere timetable submissions.
- Staff gain diverse experience working across owners, EPCMs, and Tier 1 contractors, with unique opportunities in schedule assurance, QSRA, and forensic delay analysis in the Perth market.
