Role Overview

Based in Napier, Hawke's Bay, you will play a vital role in supporting the production unit to meet its targets by strictly following established systems and processes. Your daily tasks involve operating machinery and equipment on the shop floor while interpreting technical diagrams and instructions to assemble various products, systems, or panels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out different types of assembly tasks to produce semi-finished or completed products, systems, or panels, including packing when integrated with the production line.
  • Execute work either manually or with light hand tools.
  • Conduct routine quality checks as part of defined production procedures.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and maintain a tidy workspace.

Reporting

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in assembly tools, techniques, and manufacturing processes.
  • Several years of experience in assembly work, including the ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, or instructions for systems, panels, or products.
  • Skilled in using light hand tools and adhering to standardized procedures to ensure quality and operational efficiency.
  • Strong attention to precision, quality control, teamwork, safety awareness, and ongoing process improvement.
  • Relevant experience or formal qualifications related to manufacturing or similar fields.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, notably in understanding technical content.
  • Possession of a valid New Zealand work permit or visa permitting legal employment.
