Work Schedule and Compensation
This role operates during 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM on Mondays through Wednesdays and alternate Thursdays, following a recurring 4-on/3-off and 3-on/4-off schedule. Employees working Monday to Thursday receive a 30% shift premium.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Process Technician 2 supports engineering teams by analyzing production line data and collaborating with cross-functional groups and external suppliers to ensure equipment meets specifications and deadlines. The technician engages in hands-on testing, maintenance, and documentation related to automated systems and manufacturing equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract and examine engineering data including yield performance results.
- Conduct performance testing on electro-mechanical assemblies using designated test tools.
- Operate, test, and maintain robotic and vision system equipment.
- Analyze and document test outcomes and prepare corresponding reports.
- Perform operational tests and troubleshoot faults in automated machinery.
- Assist in equipment development activities under project engineer supervision such as assembly, testing, engineering validation, and studies.
- Adhere to company safety protocols including the Safety and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) programs.
- Update and maintain operational documentation including manuals, drawings, and specifications.
- Undertake additional assigned duties with a focus on safety and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with problem-solving methods like A3 and the 5 Whys technique.
- Experienced in using data analysis tools such as Minitab and Tableau.
- Familiarity with supporting Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ) procedures.
- Typically requires a Level 6 or 7 qualification (equivalent to bachelor's or master's) and 2 to 4 years relevant experience.
- Ability to interpret technical and scientific documentation related to equipment specifications.
- Strong writing skills for producing routine reports, operational communications, and technical documentation.
- Skilled in presenting information clearly to supervisors, engineers, and management.
- Background in process improvements targeting yield enhancement and downtime reduction.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledgeable in high-volume, high-reliability manufacturing equipment and processes.
