Role and Team Overview
You will be part of the AI Platform Engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining the infrastructure that links engineers and client workloads to multiple Large Language Model providers including Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, and OpenAI. This involves managing the API gateway, routing layer, orchestration and lifecycle tools that enable reusability of AI integrations, as well as trust, safety, and governance systems to ensure scalability and auditability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, operate, and enhance the API gateway and routing functions connecting engineers and client tasks to diverse LLM providers, including failover and routing strategy implementation for reliability during incidents.
- Design and implement orchestration and lifecycle management systems to facilitate registration, discovery, and reuse of AI capabilities and agents.
- Establish and maintain RBAC/OIDC access controls and rigorous API key lifecycle management protocols.
- Create caching mechanisms and optimize for latency and cost, alongside analytics to track platform adoption and usage.
- Contribute to API lifecycle management including design, versioning, and promotion from experimental to production stages.
- Ensure trust, safety, and governance frameworks are integrated into the platform to maintain auditable and scalable AI capabilities.
Candidate Profile
- Proficient in Python or Go with relevant professional experience from hands-on development to strategic technical leadership.
- Experienced or eager to gain experience with API gateways such as Kong (preferred), Envoy, or Apigee.
- Familiar or curious about working with multiple LLM providers like Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, and OpenAI, especially managing failover and routing under pressure.
- Knowledge or desire to learn about RBAC/OIDC implementations and disciplined management of API keys.
- Interested in or experienced with service registry patterns such as MCP.
