Role Summary
The Pricing Actuary will support pricing activities across the Asia-Pacific region for various non-life property and casualty sectors. This includes overseeing the end-to-end management of data processing efforts in collaboration with third-party teams based in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop pricing for reinsurance treaty business, offering clear technical insights into the underlying business.
- Engage in account discussions alongside actuaries, underwriters, and other key stakeholders.
- Participate in market meetings to contribute to collective market knowledge and insights.
- Ensure prioritization and timely delivery of final pricing products.
- Leverage PartnerRe's actuarial models while applying a solid understanding of actuarial theory.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and allocation of tasks for the Asia data crunch team members.
- Collaborate closely with India-based third-party resources to provide comprehensive data crunching support for PartnerRe globally.
Experience and Skills
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience within a non-life insurance or reinsurance environment.
- Preference given to candidates with direct reinsurance treaty pricing experience.
- Exposure to multiple lines such as Property, Liability, and Marine is advantageous.
- Fluent English language skills; proficiency in an Asian language is a plus.
- Basic Excel VBA programming knowledge; additional programming or AI data analysis experience is beneficial.
- Well-versed in actuarial pricing theory, including awareness of limitations in various loss projection approaches; familiarity with Catastrophe Modelling is a plus.
- Solid understanding of reinsurance market dynamics, client incentives, and contractual treaty clauses is desirable.
