Job Overview
Join the Leatherhead Delivery Office as a permanent Postal Delivery Driver on a full-time basis, working approximately 37 hours weekly on a rotating schedule including weekends. Enjoy a starting hourly wage of £16.24 with opportunities for paid overtime, paid monthly.
Primary Duties
- Sorting letters and parcels at the delivery hub.
- Delivering mail by both van and foot in the local community.
- Establishing and maintaining good customer relationships.
- Working outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
Role Characteristics
This role balances physical activity with community engagement, involving independent work routines and variety in daily tasks. Expect to walk up to 12 miles and drive Royal Mail vans regularly, dealing with high mail volumes especially in busy seasons.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a full manual UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points, matching current name and address.
- Daily readiness and ability to drive a Royal Mail van, including passing driving assessments.
- Physical fitness to manage extensive walking, stairs, hills, and lifting mailbags weighing over 10kg.
- Dependability, self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and resilience under pressure.
- Customer service orientation and pride in delivering quality service consistently.
- Comfort with working outdoors independently.
