About the Role
As a Platform Engineer, you will play an active part in shaping a core development platform within a modern hybrid multi-cloud environment. Your primary objective is to enable development teams to efficiently move their work from commit to production by creating standardized Golden Paths and self-service solutions, minimizing technical complexity, and embedding security, quality, and compliance directly into platform services.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously design and enhance an Internal Developer Platform within a hybrid multi-cloud setup.
- Create and maintain standardized Golden Paths and automated self-services that aid development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development teams to improve Developer Experience and reduce unnecessary technical overhead.
- Integrate security, quality, and compliance requirements into platform services and CI/CD workflows.
- Shape and optimize the software development lifecycle from code commit to live deployment.
- Implement FinOps best practices to ensure transparency around cloud resource usage and costs.
Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, or Cloud Engineering.
- Proven track record in designing, building, or significantly advancing Internal Developer Platforms.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience in cloud-native software development and preferably exposure to hybrid or multi-cloud environments.
- Practical knowledge of concepts like Golden Paths, self-services, Infrastructure as Code, and Developer Experience.
- Excellent conceptual thinking, abstraction skills, and an organized approach to work.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with development teams and diverse technical stakeholders.
- Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and good English skills (minimum B2 level).
Benefits
- Work with a cutting-edge platform engineering stack featuring Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps, and hybrid/multi-cloud technologies, actively contributing to modern Internal Developer Platforms.
- Enjoy job security through a permanent contract and a company pension subsidy of 20%, providing financial planning confidence.
- Engage in challenging long-term projects in IT and financial services focusing on platform engineering, developer experience, automation, cloud, and DevSecOps, with opportunities for ongoing training.
- Competitive salary range between 80,000 and 100,000 EUR gross annually, reflecting your experience and technical expertise.
- Benefit from flexible working hours with a flexitime system and options for mobile work, facilitating a balanced work-life integration.
- Access attractive perks such as hardware and bike leasing and an employee discount portal offering deals from around 600 well-known companies.
