Overview

As a People Greeter at Walmart Canada located in Vernon, BC, you are vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the shopping experience. You will greet customers warmly, offer assistance, and help embody Walmart's core values through outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome and provide professional, friendly service to all customers entering and leaving the store, ensuring excellent first and last impressions.
• Support safety and loss prevention by tagging returned items, monitoring high-value purchases like electronics, verifying receipts when necessary, and reporting any suspicious activities or Code ADAM alerts.
• Respond politely to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms, determine causes of false alarms, document events thoroughly, and notify management of any system problems.
• Assist customers with shopping needs by supplying carts, baskets, and flyers, offering store directions, answering inquiries, and collaborating with sales staff to locate products.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment by adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.

Challenges

• Manage a high volume of tasks in a fast-paced environment efficiently, including extensive restocking and recovery duties.
• Handle physical demands such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting supplies up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive stocking and organizing tasks with precision.
• Ensure energy and focus throughout overnight or long shifts through effective time and workload management.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is CAD 18.40 per hour.
