Job description
Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Packaging Shift Manager to oversee packaging operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to production goals. The role focuses on leading a dedicated team, optimizing resources, and driving continuous enhancement in packaging processes. Collaboration with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Safety, TPM, and other stakeholders is essential to meet production targets while upholding HEINEKEN's standards for safety, food safety, quality, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise packaging activities during your shift to meet production schedules safely, efficiently, and with high quality.
- Ensure robust compliance with HEINEKEN’s safety protocols, food safety, sustainability initiatives, 5S, HACCP, and applicable regulations, fostering a safety-first culture among the team.
- Regularly assess packaging workflows and equipment status, promptly addressing deviations to preserve quality and operational effectiveness.
- Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and continuous improvement projects like Kaizen and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to optimize process performance and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Guide, mentor, and develop the packaging team by managing onboarding, performance evaluations, skill enhancement, and maintaining accurate competency records.
- Efficiently allocate shift resources—including personnel, machinery, materials, and overtime—to maximize productivity, manage costs, and support the overall packaging schedule.
- Track and communicate key packaging performance metrics, partnering with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Safety, TPM teams, and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve operational and quality issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Additional education or certifications related to Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging, Supply Chain, or similar fields are advantageous.
- A solid 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, beverage, packaging, or similar production settings.
- Proven leadership in managing production teams within manufacturing or production environments.
- Hands-on understanding of packaging operations, production workflows, and quality control standards.
- Familiarity with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement systems is a plus.
- Knowledgeable in safety regulations, food safety, HACCP, quality management systems, and relevant manufacturing standards.
- Experience interpreting production data and KPIs to identify enhancements, monitor operations, and drive improvements.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities for addressing operational challenges effectively.
- A collaborative approach working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and support operational demands as necessary.
